Athly Back to the audit

Privacy

Last updated 5 October 2026. This covers both the Athly app and the Athly waitlist page.

Short version: Athly stores the details you give it so it can build your daily plan, keeps them in your own private account, and never sells them or hands them to advertisers. Your plan is generated by an AI service that is contractually barred from training on your data. You can delete everything by asking.

The app

Everything below is about the Athly iOS app. The waitlist website is covered separately near the bottom.

Signing in

You sign in with Apple or Google. We receive a sign-in identifier and, depending on what you allow, your name and email address. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, Apple gives us a private relay address instead of your real one, and that is all we ever see. We use this only to create and secure your account. We do not use email or password combinations, and we never see your Apple or Google password.

What you tell Athly during setup

To build a plan that fits your life, the app stores what you enter in onboarding and in your profile:

Your calendar

If you choose to import your schedule, Athly reads practices and games from your device calendar so it can plan around them, and stores those events as fixed blocks in your account. This access is read-only: Athly never writes to, edits, or deletes anything in your calendar. If you decline the permission, the app still works — you just add fixed commitments by hand.

Your plans, check-ins, and messages

Athly stores the daily plans it generates, the blocks in them, your morning check-in and the intention you type each day, and any messages you exchange with the in-app assistant. This is what lets your plan carry over and improve day to day.

How your plan is generated

When you generate or adjust a plan, Athly sends the relevant context — your profile, that day's fixed events, your active goals, recent messages, and your morning intention — to Anthropic, the company behind the Claude AI models, which returns the plan. Anthropic processes this to produce your plan and, under its commercial API terms, does not use it to train its models. Your Anthropic request goes through our own server so that the key is never on your phone; we apply per-account limits there to prevent abuse.

Subscriptions and payments

Payments are handled entirely by Apple and by RevenueCat, our subscription manager. When you start a trial or subscribe, Apple processes the charge and RevenueCat receives an account identifier and your subscription status so the app knows whether your access is active. Athly never sees or stores your card or payment details.

Notifications

Athly's reminders (for example, that your trial is ending, or that your plan is ready) are scheduled locally on your device. In this version we do not run a server that pushes notifications to you.

How the app is used

Athly records which setup screens you reach and when a daily plan is built, so we can see where the app is confusing and fix it. These records are tied to your account and to an identifier the app makes up for your install, and they sit in our own database alongside the rest of your account.

This is first-party and that is the whole of it: no advertising identifier, no third-party analytics kit, nothing that follows you into other apps or websites, and nothing sold or shared for anyone else's marketing.

Who processes your data

We keep the list of companies that touch your data short and name all of them:

We do not sell your information, show you ads, run third-party advertising or analytics trackers, or hand your data to anyone for their own marketing.

How long it is kept, and deleting it

Your data stays in your account for as long as the account exists. To delete your account and everything in it, email athlysupport@gmail.com from the address on your account and ask. We will delete it and reply to confirm. You do not have to give a reason.

Security

Your data travels over encrypted connections, our database restricts every row to the account that owns it, and the key that talks to the AI service lives only on our server, never on your phone.

Age

Athly is built for high school and college athletes and is intended for people aged 13 and over. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has an account, email the address above and we will remove it.

Under 18? That is who Athly is for. If a parent or guardian would rather you did not use it, or wants your account removed, they can email the address above and we will remove it, no questions asked.

The waitlist page

Everything above is about the app. The time-audit waitlist page collects less, and only if you ask it to.

What is collected, and only if you ask us to

You can use the time audit and see your number without giving us anything. Nothing about you is stored unless you choose to join the waitlist. If you do join, we store:

We use it to email you once when Athly launches, to understand the shape of a real student athlete's week, and to see which channels brought people in. The page records which of the four steps people reach, using a random code stored in your browser only for the length of the visit; it has no personal information in it and disappears when you close the tab. There are no advertising cookies or tracking pixels. Netlify hosts the page, and Google Fonts serves the typefaces, which means Google's servers see the request your browser makes for them, including your IP address.

Waitlist data is kept until Athly launches and we have emailed you, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. Email the address above to have it removed.

Changes

If this changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes. For the waitlist, anyone already on the list is told before it takes effect.
